The downside of your setup is that you have no firewall service capability. Using one linux box as a gateway would permit you have a firewall for your lan. I also set up a video conferencing reflector for a few cams around the hours, an in-house videoconferencing system (OK, I have a bit too much time on my hands...) and a test irc server for similar purposes (WAY too much time on my hands).
Anyone know how to convince linux to make coffee? ;)
I was just wondering .... What hardware did you use to do the Videoconf..? I would like to set something similiar at home I have a Connectix Cam and also a Miro TV card which I have several times under 95/98 connected a videocamera . also I'm trying to find some additional stuff to control stepper motors possibly in conjunction with the cameras ...etc any hints.... I have several machines with Connectix quickcams that connect to a reflector program on one server downstairs. I dumped the White Pine reflector partly due to extreme cost and also due to it's being a CPU hog. There's another reflector around by Spacer, as I recall. The file was eref-1.07b9-linux.tar. The client is quseeme.
