Hi, I'm trying to set up a dual head system: I went to Yast2's control center and setup a GeForce2 GTS monitor hooked up to an Acer 77e monitor(primary- works fine), along with a Cirrus Logic GD 5434-8 card hooked up to a Sony Multiscan 200ES montior (not working!). So then I followed SuSE's directions from the support site (booted in runlevel3, then ran sax2). The second monitor displays a (very shaky) picture during setup, but after restart, the second monitor remains off. My XF86Config file reads like it should. Any suggestions? ===== This has been a test of the emergency broadcasting channel, if this was an actual emergency, you would be dead. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Forgot to mention, I'm running 8.1 with the XFree that comes default with 8.1 ( 4.2?). --- VB <vboyt@yahoo.com> wrote:

Hi all, I got a display to show up on each monitor but the second monitor's display is still very shaky. I read this might be becuase KDE's window manager is not very supportive of multihead. Anybody know about this? --- VB <vboyt@yahoo.com> wrote:

I have a couple people that I work with that have dual monitors setup and are using KDE. I'm going to hazard a guess and say it's the Cirrus Logic video card your using on the 2nd monitor. In the cases of the people I work with that have dual monitors..their monitors are the same brand and the video cards they are using are the same brand as well. Two of them have dual nVidia cards and the other has 2 ATI Radeon 7500's which are cheap BTW..both ATI cards cost a total of $80. I never had much luck with Cirrus Logic under Windows (years ago) and I'm not sure how well XFree86 4.x.x supports them...they may only be supported by using XFree86 3.x.x. in which case your going to be really unhappy with performance. * VB (vboyt@yahoo.com) [030302 00:22]: ->Hi all, ->I got a display to show up on each monitor but the ->second monitor's display is still very shaky.
