Please recommand a freeware that converts avi to mpeg or rm to mpeg and vice versa. I can't find any in yast

Please recommand a freeware that converts avi to mpeg or rm to mpeg and vice versa. I can't find any in yast it just so happens I was asking about this just yesterday, and I have been running a wonderful program todday that works VERY well!!
