[opensuse] howto define hotkeys (Fn + ..) in 11.1
i'll have 11.1 running on my T500 laptop. some of the hotkeys (FN + ...) don't work anymore. any idea how to define them ( eg FN + moon -> puts laptop into sleep mode ). jef peeraer -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

In Gnome you'd go to 'Computer' / More Applications and then find 'Keyboard shortcuts' For KDE, I'm sure somebody else can help you with it. Dominique -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Probably won't help - I have similar problems on my Asus (see an earlier mail to the list). (At least in my case) acpi just no longer generates events for those special keys, so there is no way (i could find) of defining something for them :( Pit -- Dr. Peter "Pit" Suetterlin http://www.astro.su.se/~pit Institute for Solar Physics Tel.: +34 922 405 590 (Spain) P.Suetterlin@royac.iac.es +46 8 5537 8507 (Sweden) Peter.Suetterlin@astro.su.se -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Give keytouch (http://keytouch.sourceforge.net/) a try. ~/jc -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I'm not sure how well this aligns with openSUSE configuration, but take a look at http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/How_to_get_special_keys_to_work There is some information about the concepts at least. There is a KDE package for laptops (search for laptop in Yast) that claims to allow one to set keys and things (via kmilo, whatever that is). It is worth a shot. -- Roger Oberholtzer OPQ Systems / Ramböll RST Ramböll Sverige AB Krukmakargatan 21 P.O.
