It's there now. I also added in the installation chapter: - beyond suse10 apt is going to be phased out, and will be replaced by a repomd formatted repository. This format is supported by yast, yum and smartpm already. Other clients might follow as well. - suse10 includes apt. It can be installed easily with yast. -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless

What do you mean with SUSE 10? Does this mean SUSE 10.0, 10.1, 10.2, 10.X will have apt and SUSE 11 won't? houghi -- Quote correct (NL) http://www.briachons.org/art/quote/ Zitiere richtig (DE) http://www.afaik.de/usenet/faq/zitieren Quote correctly (EN) http://www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.html

I already suspected this question: I changed it to suse10 to suse-10.0: - beyond suse-10.0 apt is going to be phased out, and will be replaced by a repomd formatted repository. This format is supported by yast, yum and smartpm already. Other clients might follow as well. - suse-10.0 includes apt. It can be installed easily with yast. This is clear I believe. -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless

I thought so, but got confused when it was mentioned that 10.1 recources came online. I will see in the other list (I asume) what will be exactly going on with packaging. Don't worry, I am just a lurker there. ;-) houghi -- Quote correct (NL) http://www.briachons.org/art/quote/ Zitiere richtig (DE) http://www.afaik.de/usenet/faq/zitieren Quote correctly (EN) http://www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.html

The APT users need the 10.1 repository just to get there. ;-)) Cheers -e -- Eberhard Moenkeberg (emoenke@gwdg.de, em@kki.org)

And how do they get to 10.2? Just curious, I have no intention on using it. houghi -- Quote correct (NL) http://www.briachons.org/art/quote/ Zitiere richtig (DE) http://www.afaik.de/usenet/faq/zitieren Quote correctly (EN) http://www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.html

Richard just had named most of the "modern" tools. Cheers -e -- Eberhard Moenkeberg (emoenke@gwdg.de, em@kki.org)

So you just do it with YaST. Is that the answer? houghi -- Quote correct (NL) http://www.briachons.org/art/quote/ Zitiere richtig (DE) http://www.afaik.de/usenet/faq/zitieren Quote correctly (EN) http://www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.html

OK, I give up. Pitty I can't get an answer. (Yes, it probably already is give, but I don't get it.) If you do not want to give the answer, no problem, just don't reply. houghi -- Quote correct (NL) http://www.briachons.org/art/quote/ Zitiere richtig (DE) http://www.afaik.de/usenet/faq/zitieren Quote correctly (EN) http://www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.html

He did give you an answer. *You* failed, forest vs trees maybe, see quote from Richard following: <quote> - beyond suse-10.0 apt is going to be phased out, and will be replaced by a repomd formatted repository. There it says: ... supported by yast ..., So for that reason I asumed that Yast was somehow doing what apt is doing now. Or that it at least was involved. houghi -- Quote correct (NL) http://www.briachons.org/art/quote/ Zitiere richtig (DE) http://www.afaik.de/usenet/faq/zitieren Quote correctly (EN) http://www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.html
