Hi all, I want to install a Hauppauge WinTV card in my PC. I have read the docs and they contradict: the readme says adjust TUNER in the Makefile to a number corresponding to the card, the Makefile says do not edit but do it somewhere else (where I cannot find it). Can anyone give me any ideas of how to do it? P.S. For the Germans: I can speak and read German, not write it (failed that exam). Joost Kraaijeveld Askesis B.V. I assume your dealing with bttv, right? In the latest versions the tuner selection was moved (as the comments in the makefile indicate). The file to modify is in the bttv/driver directory. It's called "update" (it's a shell script). Near the end you will see some lines like: xinsmod i2c xinsmod videodev there is a line that reads xinsmod tuner debug=0 type=6 --------------------------^ this is where you select your tuner type Hope this helps, after alot of fooling around I finally got my STB PCI-TV working. I used xawtv, which seems to work (after adding the "-b 24" option for my version of X). The only remaining problem is the tuner seems to drift. I am currently experimenting with different settings for the PLL. Hope this helps you Steve
