Hi, I was stupid enought to delete the "samba.conf" file. I thought swat would recreate the file itself, but doesn't. Then I just created the samba.conf file myself, but the configuration program swat doesn't seem to be able to write to the file. I guess that's because I created a totally empty file. Where can I get a samba.conf file with the standard settings from? ~Phoenix
The easiest (but not the most elegan) is to delete the RPM and reinstall (or just do a forced install). On 29 Aug 2002 at 23:47, Phoenix wrote:

There is a default smb.conf file to be found in /usr/share/doc/packages/samba/samples. (In fact there are many different ones). Just copy the "backup" from /usr/share/doc/samba/examples/smb.conf.default to /etc/samba/smb.conf -- Joe & Sesil Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM.
