[opensuse] Disable console screen blanking does not work after update to 12.2
Hi there. Today I updated a system from 12.1 Tumbleweed to 12.2. The system is up and running - so far no problems, except one small annoyance: I want to disable console screen blanking (text mode) - but this does not work anymore. I tried: /usr/bin/setterm -blank 0 -powersave off -powerdown 0 I tried: /etc/sysconfig/powersave/common SCREENSAVER_DPMS_OFF="no" The screen still blanks. This system is a virtual machine - there is no need to blank a virtual screen. So how do I switch off screen blanking? Would the system at that time be any different than a 12.1 system for which one does a distribution update (zypper up)? Is it that when Tumbleweed 'touches base' with an openSUSE release they are the same. But they take potentially different paths to the next release when they touch base again? To be honest - I don't know if these systems are really the _same_. What I can say is, that the Tumbleweed repository currently is nearly empty. So after "zypper dup" both variants should be as near as anyhow possible - just except modifications, done by packet updates of the Tumbleweed repository, which are not reverted by the distribution update to 12.1. But I don't know if such things happen ... Ralf-- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
