Greetings! A bit off-topic for this list... I just bought a Toshiba Sattelite Pro 420CDS laptop (P100, 40MB RAM and 810MB hard drive) from Ebay. The laptop has a small 2.5" hard drive that I would like to upgrade to a slightly bigger 2.5" hard drive. An 6.4GB upgrade kit specifically for my laptop costs $200 USD. An IBM 10GB 2.5" hard drive only cost $110 USD. Is it possible to install the IBM hard drive into the laptop? Of course, I could probably find a suitable hard drive on Ebay... :) Thanks! It's possible, but you might have trouble with drives larger than 4.3 or 8.4 GB. It depends on what the BIOS supports. On the other hand, I had a machine with a BIOS that choked with anything larger than 8.4. As long as I only used Linux it was fine and Linux ignored the problem. - -- James Oakley Engineering - SolutionInc Ltd. joakley@solutioninc.com http://www.solutioninc.com -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.5 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE7i5cI+FOexA3koIgRAvGWAJ4mEqpFUHXE2rKJctXtXcK+ovxSLQCgj/HN Dwqzz0s94lRQyyPM1fo+eTU= =3gbT -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
