Where is sftp - why isn't it in the OpenSSH rpms?
Hello, I am interested in using sftp, however even though there's sftp-server included with the OpenSSH rpm, there's no sftp binary. The OpenSSH web sites indicates that sftp is part of the package. Can anyone clarify this? Was the sftp binary deliberately left our of the OpenSSH rpm? If so, where do I obtain it? ---------------------------------------------------- Jonathan Wilson System Administrator Cedar Creek Software http://www.cedarcreeksoftware.com Central Texas IT http://www.centraltexasit.com

Thanks everyone, I upgraded to the latest version from SuSE and sftp is there now. It works great. Unfortunately it doesn't look like it has readline support, which is really annoying. Thanks again. At 12:56 AM 9/15/2001 +0300, you wrote:

JW, see this ( from SuSE 7.2 ): tosi@dustpuppy:~ > rpm -ql openssh | grep ftp /usr/bin/sftp /usr/lib/ssh/sftp-server /usr/share/man/man1/sftp.1.gz /usr/share/man/man8/sftp-server.8.gz Uhm... either you have a funny system...... -tosi
