I am assuming that you could use the 'apmd' on a desktop that I use on my laptop. Either way, here is more info: <A HREF="http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/kharker/linux-laptop/apm.html"><A HREF="http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/kharker/linux-laptop/apm.html</A">http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/kharker/linux-laptop/apm.html</A</A>> download (there are many ftp sites that you could use): <A HREF="ftp://ftp.cs.unc.edu/pub/users/faith/linux/"><A HREF="ftp://ftp.cs.unc.edu/pub/users/faith/linux/</A">ftp://ftp.cs.unc.edu/pub/users/faith/linux/</A</A>> mc - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

I would say that it is safe to use Power Management as I have been running it for a while in various recent distributions of Linux (including S.u.S.E Linux 5.2). You may need to recompile your kernel to get the power management stuff running, but that is a small job! Tom. root@twatts.demon.co.uk On Sat, 25 Jul 1998, Juergen Braukmann wrote:
