The init script (/etc/init.d/upd) for this package has a syntax error. (Beware of line-wrap in the following!) Original: (echo "-> Starting upslog: "; startproc /usr/bin/upslog localhost /var/log/ups.log \ $UPSLOG_INTERVAL || rc_failed) More Correct: (echo "-> Starting upslog: "; startproc /usr/bin/upslog -s myups@localhost -l /var/log/ups.log \ -i $UPSLOG_INTERVAL || rc_failed) The correction I give is not completely correct since "myups@localhost" is hard-coded but should come from one of the config files.
