apt4rpm SUSE 9.0 update
Dear all, here I am back again with my updating problem for SUSE 9.0: as previously posted, I am tryingto update Suse 9.0 to a newer and stable version (say, 9.2). I have completely update using some on line tips my 9.0 Pro for bas packages and many apps: I have indeed found some issues about updating with apt4rpm 9.1 to 9.2, but no one about updating 9.0 to upper versions. Did anyone tried to do so ? Do you think that such an aupdate (9.0 --> 9.2) using a full apt procedure as described in SUSE FTPs could in principle create a problem ? I did the upgrade from 9.0 to 9.1 first and then 9.1 to 9.2 after that.
Worked fine. Before starting the upgrade, backup up your data, and know
that the more you have tweaked your system and fiddled with
dpendencies(--force and --nodeps), the possibility for problems
increases. Examine closely the results of the test 'apt -s dist-upgrade'
before you start.

That's exactly the point: I have, infact, planned to upgrade the system step by step because I had suspected such a problem with dependencies .... I have the big advantage that this is a fresh installation made using a distro I had at home and that I would like to update to a newer version, so I wil not have to back up anything at all! I will try to do as you suggested. Thanx Bye L

and 'apt --test dist-upgrade' if possible write down the list with package being upgraded, with: apt --show-cmd dist-upgrade -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless
