You know, there's nothing wrong with OSS (I use it on my es1371 at home), but it cost me $30 for the privilage of using thier software. If you're just going to leave a terse link in an email, you should probably also mention that the kernel has mostly-functional support for this card as well, and the ALSA project also has nearly 100% OSS-Compatible drivers. -- -=|JP|=- (Resident GNUbie) Jon Pennington | Atipa Linux Solutions -o) jpennington@atipa.com | http://www.atipa.com /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | 816-241-2641 _\_V -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

Using SuSE 6.1 or 6.2, you don't need a new kernel. All you need to do is read /etc/conf.modules, and un-comment the lines referring to es1371 chipset cards. Insert a line in /sbin/init.d/boot.local that reads `modprobe es1371' and you'll be set. The only exception to this would be if you had one of the earlier AudioPCI cards with the es1370 chipset (the procedure is the same, but there are two different kernel modules). -- -=|JP|=- (Resident GNUbie) Jon Pennington | Atipa Linux Solutions -o) jpennington@atipa.com | http://www.atipa.com /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | 816-241-2641 _\_V -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
