My Office Lan has 2 Linux Servers :
Server 1 : Apache, Samba, MySQL etc + IP masq router 2 NICS : 192.168.1.254 and 192.168.32.254 Server 2: SuSE firewals and wvdial.dod ISDN gateway ( 64 kbps ) 1 NIC : 192.168.32.1
The bandwidth is shared by about 20 Win98s and a Linux workstation which are all on the 192.168.1.0 network
Our portal website is hosted overseas ... Would it be a good idea to install a web proxy on Server 2 ? I have to run Apache on Server 1 for testing purposes ...
I'd be grateful for any suggestions ..
If you have a DOD Internet connection, you should have a look at wwwoffle. This is a http proxy server with offline capability. Squid might be a bit of an overkill in your case.
