[opensuse] SUSEConnect
I've just noticed an update for SUSEConnect on my Leap 42.3 box. Why is SUSEConnect installed on a Leap machine? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Interesting, I saw that update come through on a 15 box, but didn't really investigate further. I thought it was related to osc. Thanks for clearing that up. Good eye dh, that is the type of thing I usually follow up on (because inquiring minds just gotta know), but didn't this time... -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.

Well yes, but why is rollback-helper there as well? I deleted both of them, we'll see what happens.

For Leap 42.3 there should be absolutely zero negative impact removing those packages - they accomplish nothing practical, just make it easier for SUSE to use & contribute to the codebase when there are less differences between SLE and openSUSE. For Leap 15.0 those packages will be useful for those Leap users who wish to use SUSE's new supported in-place migration path from Leap 15 to SLE 15 If you have no intention of migrating from Leap to SLE, then there is also no problem removing those packages from a Leap 15 machine -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Then don't install them by default, and in the documentation for migration say to install them first. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.3 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)
