Using Suse 7.3 2.4.16 kernel I want to verify that my 2 USB ports are seen and all the proper configurations done during start up. What in the /var/log/boot.msg will tell me this? Or is it elsewhere? TIA Harry G

OK. thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I don't have ANY reference in the boot.msg file pertaining to USB. How do I check if the module is loaded for USB support? Harry G On Tuesday May 28 2002 12:00 am, Travis Owens wrote:

use the command "lsmod" from the shell to see what modules are loaded, all modules that get loaded are setup through /etc/modules.conf you can load modules manually with "modprobe <module>" or all modules with "modprob \*" removal is "rmmod" don't forget to use the man pages to get a better understanding of these programs. man <program name> -- Travis. For Laptop issuses, check out: http://www.linux-laptop.net For Wireless LAN issues, check out: http://www.linux-wlan.com Don't forget to document your experiences, tricks, and advice while using Linux. Post it somewhere so we'll all benefit from it. You never know who will be asking the same question next time.
