[opensuse] Mouse right-click in Nautilus is too fast!
Strange that nobody noticed it yet but if you are in Nautilus and right-click your mouse button the response is so fast that the first option in the opened window (in my case it is new-folder) is going to be selected without you ever perceive! I tried to lowering down the sensitivity in mouse/touchpad options without any success. Is there a way to really slow-down this very frustrating behaviour in Nautilus? Is that click-and-release or click-and-hold? -- Policies, as distinct from Strategies, must match organizational culture. If this is unable or unwilling to monitor and enforce policies and/or sanction non-compliance, there is no point to having policies - other than to show the auditors that they exist. I've seen organizations pay consultants substantial sums to have a policy portfolio which is then filed and not acted upon. -- Eduardo Gelbstein August 2012 (on LinkedIn) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I am also experiencing the same thing in my openSUSE 13.1.

For me, a single click(right/left, whatever), is opening it. Which I was also thinking to post here to fix. -- ================ Regards, Arup Rakshit -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Exactly! Also Ubuntu users complaining of this issue which is mostly Nautilus related since doesn't happens in Firefox for example where the right-menu options went no automatically focused. Really bad for Gnome users! -- Marco Calistri opensuse 13.1 (Bottle) 64 bit - Kernel 3.11.10-7-default Gnome 3.10.1 Intel® Core™ i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz × 4 - Intel® Sandybridge Mobile -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Mate (using 1.6.2 here) is not affected at all by this annoying behaviour. Sorry to be nostalgic but former Gnome was better in several things in comparison to the current version! Just click one time, the right-menu opens super fast and first option of the list (new-folder) went selected, no way to control it just if you pay attention on speed you use to click on mouse button, very annoying! -- Marco Calistri opensuse 13.1 (Bottle) 64 bit - Kernel 3.11.10-7-default Gnome 3.10.1 Intel® Core™ i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz × 4 - Intel® Sandybridge Mobile -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I asked the question I did because IIR in some apps you need to click-and-hold or the menu/pulldown disappears. It seems to be up to the specific programmer whether that is the case or whether menu appears and stays on a click. Try click-and-hold and see if that works for you. A problem inherent in having many programmers, different languages and different libraries ... :-) -- "Ahhh. A man with a sharp wit. Fore the moment I switched the default file manager to Caja (Mate DE file-manager) which looks to have a more comfortable response and usability.
