I mainly seek for monitors to try debugging myself :-), but it's a broadcom bcm94311MCG mini-pci card, with bcm43 module and original firmware.
I think it's by mistake that you answered privately so I send this on the list
The antenna for your laptop runs from the card up and around your monitor. Open the cover to the card and make sure that the antenna is connected properly.
it is. if one can think two very small plugs are a correct connector :-) the Acer box say "Acer Signal up, high efficiency antenna technology" If you added the card after you bought the 'puter, no, it's the original one
connected properly, then I'd suspect the card isn't functioning properly. I don't like Broadcom anyway, so I'd replace it with an Intel with the 3945 chipset.
the problem is that the signal as reported by network manager (and wifi-radar) is quite good. Some friends of mine say you can connect with a 45% signal. I quit connection with 90%!!! do you know if such device: http://www.buffalo-technology.com/products/wireless/wireless-g/wireless-g-hi... is linux supported and really good? I need connection and the device is reasonably cheap thanks jdd -- http://www.dodin.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
