Your problem is you have a Yamaha sound card! Yamaha has been VERY disagreeable with the Linux community. The last I knew, there ISN'T any Yamaha sound support.
I shall not agree! Because alsa even offers yamaha support - but i cannot get it to work! *** SOLVED *** got it fixed tonite.

Olvier, Which yamaha sound card do you have and how did you get it too work. I too have a yamaha soundcard in my laptop which isn't working but is on my list of things to fix soon. Any help much appreciated. Jethro
