[opensuse] chroot named
Hello, How can I ensure that bind is chrooted? Running Suse 11.1 and I see /var/lib/named, however I was expecting a chroot directory under ../named. Many thanks, James -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Make sure you start named with '-t /var/lib/named' and it'll chroot into that directory. /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (8.9°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

In openSUSE the name service demon is handled by the /etc/init.d/named init script, by default (i.e. when NAMED_RUN_CHROOTED in /etc/sysconfig/named-common is set to yes) named will run chrooted. If and how you can control this when named is running escapes my knowledge. See /etc/sysconfig/named:NAMED_RUN_CHROOTED="yes" That's the default for SUSE since Feb 27 2003. Lars -- Lars Müller [ˈlaː(r)z ˈmʏlɐ] Samba Team SUSE Linux, Maxfeldstraße 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany
