How to get PHP running ?
Hello, Can someone please enlighten me ? Although I have mod_php4-core and apache2-mod_php4 installed the system (SuSE 9.3) does not run php-scripts. E.g. when I start Firefox with file:///a/b/c/file.php it asks me with what program I want to open file.php Why doesn't it just execute the script ? What am I missing ? Hi Jan,
Put the script in /var/www/html and make sure your webserver (Apache) is
running. Then open your browser and type in the URL:
http://<yourhostname>/

The script will run and the webserver will produce HTML which can be shown in your broser. By just opening the file in your browser, you will just see the contents of the script.
Of course, that's it. All OK now. Thanks Peter -- Jan Elders the Netherlands http://www.xs4all.nl/~jrme/ "Home of the Network Acronyms"
