Just installed 12.2 64 bit on HP probook 6455b. Is there a way to get the wireless working? Should it work with 12.2? Here is the wireless card: Broadcom 802.11a/b/g/n 300M Half Height Mini-PCI-e Laptop Wireless Card Here is the actual number on the card: bcm943224hms Sent from my iPhone-- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Supposedly that chip is the same as a BCM4322 but there are a few varieties of that some of which are troublesome. You really need to know the PCI-ID (lspci as root)/ See this page: http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43#Supported_chip_types -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Although the id is not shown with lspci, it does give this: 03:00.3 FireWire (IEEE 1394): Ricoh Co Ltd R5C832 PCIe IEEE 1394 Controller (rev 01) 07:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM43224 802.11a/b/g/n (rev 01) And according to the page you linked to: 14e4:0576 not tested BCM43224 ? ? wl/brcm80211 an alternative is brcm80211. Would you know where to get that driver and how to get it working? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

On that page, the actual command for lspci is shown. Did you enter it exactly as they indicated? Also, don't stop reading too soon on that page because there are several PCI-IDs that are qeuivelent to BCM43224. You can always try the bcrm80211 driver: http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/brcm80211 -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Oh, I forgot, be sure to check out this page as well: http://opensuse-guide.org/wlan.php It is specific to 12.2 -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
