[opensuse] OpenOffice quickstarter fails with OO 2.4 64 bit
I recently installed 64 bit OpenOffice 2.4 on my computer. I have now noticed that the quickstarter no longer works. When I try to start OpenOffice with it, I get an error message such as "/home/jknott/private:factory/swriter does not exist". I can start OpenOffice with the usual icons. This problem does not occur on a 32 bit system. Any ideas? tnx jk -- Use OpenOffice.org <http://www.openoffice.org> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Yes......"normal" for 64-bit and 2.4. :( Right mouse click on the quickstart icon and use edit to tell qs where to find the files. Fred -- MickySoft Aims to Lasso Everything With Live Mesh. Currently, it's set to /usr/lib64/ooo-2.0, which it apparently doesn't like. If I change it to /usr/lib64/ooo-2.*, as in the 32 bit version, it doesn't even show the selections. Where should it point to? -- Use OpenOffice.org <http://www.openoffice.org> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Then something else is wrong, James. It's how I have it setup on this laptop and my desktop....both 64-bit. Fred -- MickySoft Aims to Lasso Everything With Live Mesh. The correct value for the 64-bit system is either /usr/lib64/ooo-2.0 or /usr/lib/ooo-*. I have reproduced the problem. I could start only the first OOo window using the quickstarter. If there is an already opened window, it only prints an error about the the /path/private:factory/... does not exist. We will try to fix it for 11.0-rc1. -- Best Regards, Petr Mladek software developer --------------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX, s. r. o. e-mail: pmladek@suse.cz Lihovarská 1060/12 tel: +420 284 028 952 190 00 Prague 9 fax: +420 284 028 951 Czech Republic http://www.suse.cz/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

We will try to fix it for 11.0-rc1.
It is fixed as https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=393264 now. I have also fixed the quickstart mode to actually work, see https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=393265 Both fixes were accepted for 11.0-rc1. -- Best Regards, Petr Mladek software developer --------------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX, s. r. o. e-mail: pmladek@suse.cz Lihovarská 1060/12 tel: +420 284 028 952 190 00 Prague 9 fax: +420 284 028 951 Czech Republic http://www.suse.cz/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hello, I am sorry for the late response. I was somewhat busy with preparing the OOo-2.4.1rc1 build (available in the OpenOffice.org:UNSTABLE project now) On Thursday 22 May 2008, James Knott wrote:

It is available for all older products in the Build Service in all three OOo-related projects. You can find the packages for 10.3 at http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/OpenOffice.org:/EXTRAS/openSUSE_10... http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/OpenOffice.org:/STABLE/openSUSE_10... http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/OpenOffice.org:/UNSTABLE/openSUSE_... -- Best Regards, Petr Mladek software developer --------------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX, s. r. o. e-mail: pmladek@suse.cz Lihovarská 1060/12 tel: +420 284 028 952 190 00 Prague 9 fax: +420 284 028 951 Czech Republic http://www.suse.cz/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
