[opensuse] Klipper wo'tn go into the system tray -- nor will volume control
I'm up to date on patches.. It doesn't matter whether I start klipper from the command line or the menu, it doesn't produce the entry in the system tray that it once did. Oh, and the volume control too. Actually, even if it did, I'm not sure it would help, because the KDE4 shutdown is not saving the session properly; I keep getting the session from last week. Its a good thing I'm using Thunderbird and Firefox and they save state separately. None of my KDE4 settings are sticking around. If I rename my virtual desktops the names go away when I log out. The same with tabs in Konqueror; when I log in I get the ones from last week's session. Phonon settings ... the list goes on. -- It is an error to imagine that evolution signifies a constant tendency to increased perfection. That process undoubtedly involves a constant remodelling of the organism in adaptation to new conditions; but it depends on the nature of those conditions whether the directions of the modifications effected shall be upward or downward. klipper and kmix, volume control, are now widgets. Unlock the widgets, go to the taskbar and <rt-clk>/panel options/add-widgets. Lock widgets when finished. I just renamed my virtual desktops but do not have time to check that the session saves new names, will report. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I removed the kmix* entries from ~/.kde4/share/{apps,config}/ $ kmix & unnamed app(6167): Communication problem with "kmix" , it probably crashed. Error message was: "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply" : " "Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken."
