[S.u.S.E. Linux] KDE1 vs. beta 4
What are the main differences between the two? Also, is KDE 1 stable (at least 99.99%)? -- Aaron Seelye <A HREF="http://revolution.3-cities.com/~roberto</A">http://revolution.3-cities.com/~roberto</A> - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
Well, it's no longer beta so hopefully all the major bugs have been squashed. I use WindowMaker, but I always have kde installed because I use some of the apps infrequently. Whenever I install a new kde, I always whip up an .xinitrc for kde so I can test drive it for a bit before I go back to my normal environment, just to see what they've done with it. Kde 1.0 is by far the most stable. They also seem to have improved the speed a little, as when I do fire up kfm I can no longer trim the hedges and mow the lawn before it finishes loading.
