with Windows, you are *obliged* to go to the net to search for you app, it's not given with the OS, and many people have problem with use of piracy
may I add (because I just did that) that most win dows application are downloaded from a great number of web sites living with advertisements and mostly unknown from most users, so very unsecure. Most open source applications are obtained *from the distribution itself* wich is the more secure system, or from the authors account (often from sourceforge) what makes it very easy to notify the author and/or the community in case of problem. The trojan in question in the original thread was identified like this and very soon made out of bussiness jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://valerie.dodin.org http://news.opensuse.org/2009/04/13/people-of-opensuse-jean-daniel-dodin/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
