Hi, I don't use Virtualbox personally, but the same thing should apply - you don't need an additional NIC for the bridging to work (probably unless you have very heavy traffic). If you just want one address for the virtual machine (XP) and a different one for your host machine, you can use a single NIC; at least that is the case with VMware server.
