[opensuse] openSUSE 12.1 Google chrome and Firefox java plug-in not found
Setup as below -- openSUSE 12.1 (amd64) (fresh install from DVD) Google Chrome 15.0.874.121 Firefox 8.0 Java: java-1_6_0-openjdk-1.6.0.0_b22.1.10.4-1.2.x86_64 When I open the following URL (java applet) in Chrome or Firefox: <http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/personalapplet.html> I get "Missing Plug-In" message: $ /etc/alternatives/jre/bin/java -version java version "1.6.0_22" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.10.4) (suse-1.2-x86_64) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.0-b11, mixed mode) $ echo $JAVA_HOME /usr/lib64/jvm/jre FWIW - Libreoffice finds the above JRE. Any pointers to resolve the problem would be highly appreciated.
