Istvan, I'm not sure it is FF that is doing it. Generally videos, etc. play though plugins (I'm sure some can be handled natively). Regardless, the starting value normally plays the audio at 100% -- which is limited by your current desktop sound level. (meaning the resulting volume level is whatever your current desktop setting is, the gain on the audio stream isn't being reduced by whatever widget is playing the video) I think the FF about:config setting is: media.default_volume [0 - 1.0 (default 1.0)] There are settings that prevent FF from interacting with your hardware, camera, mic, volume, etc..., so I would think you would have to manually set the default_volume level in FF if you wanted something different. There is also a: media.volume_scale config setting, you will have to search the mozilla site to figure out which one to tinker with. -- David C.
