Hi Do You have some filtering on, that is blocking some phrases, words etc..? Even that rumours tells, that M$ is running hotmail with *nix OS, it does not mean that they would allow people to download Linux from their site. A practical joke... Jaska.

I bet it's the amazing anti-spam (!) measure M$ have implemented on hotmail... ...and, oh dear, they stop a lot of Linux-related mails too, ah hell, we'll just leave it eh? -- James Ogley, Unix Systems Administrator, Pinnacle Insurance Plc james.ogley@pinnacle.co.uk www.pinnacle.co.uk +44 (0) 20 8731 3619 Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 8.0) Updated GNOME RPMs for SuSE Linux: www.usr-local-bin.org *********************************************************************** CONFIDENTIALITY. And maybe it's "corporate policy" - i.e. the suits who pay his salary. Yeah, they're a pain in the ass, but if one of my admins hacked the email system to make his look different to everyone elses he'd be hacking an unemployment line the next day...:-)

Thanks for that Jon. It's true, I'm afraid some of us have to live in the real world. A world where the people who make the policies don't understand (or want to hear about) the implications of those policies. A world where you have to abide with the decisions of the minority. A world where, as Jon said, doing otherwise is likely to land you out of a job. The fact is, companies need to cover themselves legally. They obviously see the need to make it clear on _actually_ confidential emails that they are such, and the evil powers that be say that therefore, all emails are to be considered confidential, and all must have that disclaimer on. They don't care about the McQuary limit (4 lines of 80 characters) as an accepted size of sig, and they really don't care about hacking off a bunch of people of mailing lists their employees subscribe to. Blimey, I didn't want to rant, but there it is... -- James Ogley, Unix Systems Administrator, Pinnacle Insurance Plc james.ogley@pinnacle.co.uk www.pinnacle.co.uk +44 (0) 20 8731 3619 Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 8.0) This email was created and sent with Ximian Evolution 1.0.8 NEW: Advogato diary at www.advogato.org/person/riggwelter *********************************************************************** CONFIDENTIALITY. One other solution would be for the mailing list software to remove signatures from submissions before adding the list help information signature.

As I understand it, he is posting from a company computer, and the company he works for requires that sig. *************************************************** Powered by SuSE Linux 8.0 Professional KDE 3.0.0 KMail 1.4 This is a Microsoft-free computer Bryan S.
