http://toolbar.google.com/firefox/index.html Oddly enough found by googling for it. This is of course for Firefox, which I am using at the moment. You could try using mozilla and googling their linux site, google.com/linux and see what that turns up/

The future of browsers from the Mozilla Foundation is Firefox. More and more, add-on (or add-in) software is being written primarily or only for Firefox. Mozilla has effectively entered its end-of-life stage. Randall Schulz

Only the name Mozilla has entered that stage. With its replacment name, the version based upon the same Gecko 1.8 codebase as Firefox 1.5 is scheduled for release this month. http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/ Once "1.0" (in reality, Mozilla 1.8) is released, expect a Google Toolbar extension to shortly follow. -- "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord." Try installing any old Firefox extension into Mozilla. There's much more to the browser than its rendering engine.

Forget I wrote anything about the rendering engine then. My response was about the lifecycle of the suite products built on the mozilla.org open source browser project codebase, and note too: 1-There are no SeaMonkey extensions yet because it hasn't reached 1.0 final yet, and extension authors generally won't announce products before the intended host products are released. 2-SeaMonkey, like Mozilla, has less need for extensions, because it, unlike Firefox but like Mozilla, doesn't leave so many things its users want out out of the base product. -- "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord." Geezzz!!! I hope they come up with a better name than Sea Monkey. One thing that really bugs me about the Linux community is the way that what some individual considers to be a "cool" name or appearance gets imposed on saner minds.

Saner? Besides, what's in a name? RRS

It's already carved in stone (one word).

SeaMonkey was Mozilla's code name ever since the beginning of Mozilla as an open source project. The recent product renaming choice was made as a result of a complicated and lengthy committee process that included lawyer/copyright delays. This plus the complications of filename and content changes in the code base itself plus some Mozilla Foundation politics is why it wasn't ready when Firefox 1.5 was. 1.0b was released 19 Dec. -- "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord." One thing I liked about Mozilla is the "package" approach, that is browser, mail, calendar etc., all in one app. Is that available in Firefox?

You're not paying attention. I guess the whole business of the insane name blinded you to the message that SeaMonkey is the new all-in-one. http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/ Randall Schulz

Well, you might try clicking on one of the links in the big green "Download Now" area at the right side of the screen. It's still beta though.

Is the other google tool bar available? (I seem to recall there was an open source version floating about in the search results?) I'm curious if there's enough compatibility between Mozilla and Firefox that the one designed for FF would work on 'zilla.
It says it works with Linux too.
It doesn't just say it, it really does work - the evidence is at http://usr-local-bin.org/images/png/firefox-google-toolbar.png -- James Ogley james@usr-local-bin.org Packages for SUSE: http://usr-local-bin.org/rpms Make Poverty History: http://makepovertyhistory.org
