I have looked on the setiathome site and on the suse site but have been unable to find a seti rpm for 9.0. Does anyone know where their is a rpm for 9.0? Thank you Tom Land

To my knowledge there has never been any rpm's for seti. go get the tarball an untar it an run. its that simple really it is.
then use KSetiwatch to start and stop it when you log on with your user account. You'll have more control and can stop it when you want to do things like watch DVDs and listen to MP3's. Cos even with SETI niced to the max, you'll get a horrible chopping noise over your audio playback while it's running. Kernel 2.6 should fix this but as I haven't tried it I can't comment...
Hi Paul, I too had this horrible sound while SETI is running but I found it was the line in from my tv card. So I just turned it down and now when I play back an mps or ogg or watch tv I don't get that chopping sound. Hope this helps. On Sunday 01 February 2004 10:49 am, Paul Cooke wrote:
