I have just recently installed 7.1 Professional, 2.4.0 kernel.. I downloaded the latest source from kernel.org (2.4.2) and compiled it and installed it. It boots fine. I go to start the SuSEfirewall and I get IPChains is incompatible with this kernel. I did include support for masq and routing in my make, is there anything else I should be looking for? Or doing? HELP! :P IPTables is backwords compatible? Can I just make a link from /sbin/ipchains /usr/sbin/iptables? I will try this but surely I am not the only one who has run into with all of you that have upgraded your kernel... TIA Eric Six
Did you include ipchains module when you recompiled the kernel? -Kastus On Tue, Mar 27, 2001 at 01:31:22PM -0600, ESix wrote:

iirc, there is an IPchains kernel module that you have to include for backward-compatibility with ipchains in kernel 2.4.x -- -=[Tigersden Internet Services]=- ************COMING SOON************* -=[For All Your Internet Needs]=- * HTTP://www.tigersden.demon.co.uk * -=[P.G.P.
