I have a SuSE 9.0 OOo 1.1 as well as a SuSE 9.2 1.1.3 install on separate machines. I would like to update the SuSE 9.0 machine to the 9.2 version of OOo, and am assuming that I could install the new version and then uninstall the old version via YAST?
Before I go ahead and make the plunge though, I would like to make sure that the update will not break anything else ie Mozilla?
No, it won't. rpm -Uvh [whatever the OO rpm is for 9.2] Tnx Daniel,
OK from the CLI and within the 9.2 media directory the above command is healthy. I would therefore assume that upgrading it via Yast should be hundreds as well.
However, what I did was even more drastic than that. I removed the SuSE Open Office rpm and installed the default 1.1.4 version from openoffice.org. I am afraid that is a little too adventurous for me as well as being on dialup.
I asked this exact same question on the OpenOffice users list and was referred here.
They should have answered. That's what I thought since it is an OOo question but was told that my distro group would know better. -- The informed Little Helper ======================================================================== Hylton Conacher - Linux user # 229959 at http://counter.li.org Currently using SuSE 9.0 Professional with KDE 3.1 Licenced Windows user ========================================================================
