[SLE] Corel WordPerfect Office 2000 in hand.... but....
The list of compatible Linux OSs includes SuSE, BUT, I can't install it! The instructions are easy enough. 0. Login as root, 1. Put CD1 (of 3) in your cdrom, 2. mount your cdrom 3. change to the root of the cdrom 4. type './setup' and press enter... The first time I did that I got a 'permission denied' error. So, I mounted the cdrom manually as 'mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /cdrom'. After this I retried the './setup/ command from the root of the cdrom. It fired, gave the message 'Can't find glibc 2' appeared and stopped. Now I thought that SuSE 6.3 WAS glibc... ???? I went out to the rpmfind site and located the most recent glibc I could find, which was for RH 6.2, BlueSky build: http://niteowl.userfriendly.net/linux/RPM/rawhide/1.0/i386/RedHat/RPMS/glibc... which was compiled on March 27, 2000 and is 33MB... wow! I am afraid that IF I install this version of glibc I will blow my SuSE installtion off my HDs. So, Lenz, what do you recommend? Other observations: About a year ago I purchased a WordPerfect 8 package from Corel. It came on a single CD and included a manual with 790 pages! How many pages would you guess the manual that came with Corel WordPerfect 9 Office 2000 Delux Edition? Try 393. I hope there is extensive online documentation. A full installation will take 450MB of HD. The package also comes with a 9 cm tall Penquin 'beanie baby', a polyester toy filled with plastic beans. It also includes a Libraries Catalog manual of 62 pages of font examples and about 100 pages of clipart and icon thumbnails, 100 per page. Also included is a CD with the Corel LINUX OS, Netscape, Adobe Acrobat Reader, XMMS, enhanced KDE desktop and who know what else. Another CD contains a limited Gold Edition of Railroad Tycoon II. Besides the Corel LINUX OS, Corel Office 2000 Delux Edition contains: Wordperfect 9, What you think it is Quattro Pro 9, Imports/exports Excel 97 and 2000 files Paradox 9, Imports Excel, 1-2-3, Quattro ss to db Presentations 9, slide shows, graphics, web publisher, Central 9. Scheduler, organizer, contacts, etc... The box says it is compatible with Debian, RH, Caldera, SuSE, Mandrake and other major Linux. But, we now know that it doesn't work on my SuSE 6.3, which is an almost everthing install. Hi Jerry, I am jealous, it has not been released down here yet. I gather it is due later next week. :-) Let us know of your continuing adventures! *BFN* Greek Geek. :-) Jerry L Kreps wrote:

Sure will. If it's thumbs up people will be glad to hear it. If it's thumbs down they may save a few bucks. JLK
