[SLE] Startx Error: Binary of X Server doesn't seem to be a binary file
I've just recompiled 2.2.14 - done nothing out of the ordinary (i.e., this is the 3rd recompile I've done just to get things right!) and now I can't get X11 to work! On rebooting, I get the console login - even in runlevel 3. I ran startx from the command line and got an error saying my XF86_xxxx doesn't seem to be a binary file. Ok, I looked /usr/X11/at it, and it sure is in binary (ELF). Now I have compiled my kernel for ELF support - in fact, as soon as I vi'd the file and saw @^ELF@^ etc, etc I automatically checked for this... and I have it in my kernel! I can even run the sax utility - and it runs X lovely in 1024x768. I would be most appreciative if someone can shed some light!
