RE: [SLE] Intel 486 DX2 processor and 2.2.14 kernel?
I've run 2.2.14 on a 486 DX2 66 with no problems whatsoever. In fact, it goes without saying, it runs faster than "any other O/S" I've had on it. I do admint - all I use it for is a samba server, but it works hunky dorily fine! Just don't compile it with Pentium/TSC support! ;o) Kev -----Original Message----- From: Alexander Daniloff [mailto:alex@daniloff.com] Sent: 26 March 2000 22:13 To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Cc: plug@northwest.com Subject: [SLE] Intel 486 DX2 processor and 2.2.14 kernel? Hello Linux folks! Does somebody know if Intel 486 DX2 PC will work with Linux 2.2.14 kernel? Can I use electronic parallel port swith to connect three printers to this PC? I want to use this junk PC as my network printer server. Any suggestions are gladly appreciated.
