Hi, Thank you for your answer about the encaps. I renamed it and successfully built the kernel with gcc version egcs-2.90.29. Ok, here's another one :) Do you know how I can build libg++ 2.7.2 with glibc 2 (libc6) When compiling the libio-part the "/usr/include/stdio.h" gets included and it uses some "_IO_cookie..." struct defined in "/usr/include/libio.h" but because the "libio.h" , which does NOT declare/define the struct "_IO_cookie...", is found in directory "." (libio) things get screewed up. regards - Ingvaldur Sigurjonsson -----Original Message----- From: Hubert MantelTo: suse-linux-e@suse.com Date: den 25 augusti 1998 14:05 Subject: [SuSE Linux] Re: wrong objdump parameters when building kernel > >Hi, > >On Tue, Aug 25, Ingvaldur Sigurjonsson wrote: > >> I'm trying to build the 2.0.34 kernel but the build complains when it's >> running "objdump -k -q" >> It says: objdump: --illegal option "-k" >> >> Is that correct? >> >> I've tried with both objdump from binutils 2.8.1 and binutils 2.9.1 >> >> I tried to remove the "-k -q" from "OBJDUMP_FLAGS" >> "/usr/src/linux/arch/i386/Makefile" but it didn't help. >> >> Does anyone know why I get this message? > >The kernel makefile decides on the existance of "encaps" whether you have >old binutils.
