Hi, What graphics card do you use? You might have to start sax2 with some special parameters? Check this article and read the section on Options. http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/wessels_sax_basic_configuration.html Jostein

===== Installation goes fine but when I try to configure the X server, the PC locks up and will only respond to a hardware reset. Subsequent reboot invokes fsck and shows damage to /dev/hdb3. Thanks, Rob

Machine locks up during X-Server configuration phase of install. I've gotten lot's of suggestions about disabling apic but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I tried booting with a "disableapic" kernel parameter and I tried putting "append=disableapic' in the lilo.conf file and re-ruhnning lilo. After my machine re-boots, the /var/log/boot.msg file keeps showing that APIC was re-enabled. How do I get the kernel to stop re-enabling APIC ? I have an ASUS A7M266 mobo and a Radeon QD. Thanks to all, Rob
