Hi guys, I'm looking at buying a Dell Inspiron 6000 notebook. Does anybody have any experience with SUSE on this notebook? http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/inspn_6000?c=za&l=en&s=bsd Thanks Hans

I have a Dell Inspiron 1000, surely an inferior machine to yours, but still with similarities, I expect. I had a lot of headaches in getting the video and the wireless card to work, but after getting the right xorg.conf file from the net I solved the video problem. (Yast got it quite wrong and filled the screen with indecipherable thin stripes, kind of like a visual shredder.) I now have the wireless working, though I still have a problem with an IRQ conflict that shows up on some disk operations when the wireless card is present. I do have some hints on solving it, though. My summary: a number of problems, but probably all of them are solvable, and the result after you've solved them should be quite satisfactory. I'd guess that things on the 6000 are much better than on the 1000. Paul
