I installed suse 8.1 on my laptop over the weekend. Everything went great. However I had a few hang-ups. Must fix --------- Starting with video. Once I installed the Radeon 9000 drivers (following directions on the net) x was beautiful at 1600x1200. However if I switch to console then the screen becomes unreadable. And when it goes through shutdown it also gets all screwy and unreadable. How can I fix this? I can't see having Linux installed if I cant use the text consoles. APM doesn't work at all so I have no way of telling how much battery power I have please tell me this is correctable. Also it found my cdrw drive 6 different times so I have 6 of these drives installed. Can live without but would like to have them fixed -------------------------------------------------- Next was the wireless mini-pci nic. I take it from the web that there is no fix for this if that's true no big deal.. Then was the internal modem from my research this seems to be the same scenario as the wireless nic. Paul Kraus
