RE: [SLE] log onto winnt domain (but nt domain is linux)
I have my linux machine that I would like as the file server, but would
users to log on, to it as if it were nt (from 95) how would i have this setup?
I have samba currently running where I have a shared folder, and then
Read "man swat". Activate swat by uncommenting the relevant line in inetd.conf & restart the network. Set up root as a samba user initially - smbpasswd -a root. As root, run netscape, point it at http://localhost:901 and the full range of samba options will be available to you in Advanced view. You need to set samba as a logon server, and optionally a domain master. Make sure it exports a netbios name to your liking. Add your users to samba with smbpasswd - I'd recommend you run with encrypted passwords. When your users logon to the box your /netlogon/%u.bat will be run. Hery presto, instant NT without the hassle. On Thursday, March 02, 2000 4:49 PM, Ryan Yagatich [SMTP:ryagatich@csn1.com] wrote: like their
home directories....
[homes] path=/home/%u ....
[shared] path=/home/samba writeable=true ...
how would i set this up so when I log on, my logonscript /netlogon/%u.bat would take effect.
