And of course you tested proposed fix and it did not work, so more information is needed ... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

What are you talking about Andrei. I didn't see anything in the bug report about a "proposed fix". Surely you are not referring to this comment: Takashi Iwai 2018-10-11 17:58:14 UTC Remember that the published OBS repo is always available as: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/.... Hence, for home:tiwai:bsc1111076, it'll be: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/tiwai:/bsc1111076/ -- David C. And if you mean the suggestion that you go back and delete the virtualbox kernel packages from your working kernel (lp150.12.16), and then boot into the new kernel (with fingers crossed, standing on your left foot with your right hand held in the air while whistling dixie) -- that's just stupid. https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/533386-Boot-hangs-looks-like-stag... How about we get a working virtualbox-guest-kmp-default-lp150.12.19.2 to go with the new kernel like: http://download.opensuse.org/update/leap/15.0/oss/x86_64/virtualbox-guest-km... before it? -- David C. So that was what you were talking about? I'll wait for something official to test given I have no idea who this person is or what else was done to the kernel. If opensuse was testing a backport of the kernel vbox drivers from 4.16? in the latest 4.12 kernel, then the prior kernel should have no impact on whether the new kernel properly handles the kernel side client driver generation. The new kernel should disable external driver creation and generate the client drivers based on the kernel code. KMS can handle both. I don't understand it enough to know, but there is no clear explanation is what is different between lp150.12.16.1 and lp150.12.19.2 that is causing lp150.12.19.2 to fail? -- David C. Hello
And of course you tested proposed fix and it did not work, so more information is needed ...
I can confirm that I just added the kernel repository and doing a zypper dup and it solved all my virtualbox problems on a fresh virtualbox installation of Leap 15.0 on a Leap 15.0 host : zypper addrepo --refresh --name "openSUSE-Leap-15-Kernel" http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/openSUSE-15.0/standard/ repo-Kernel zypper mr -p 95 "repo-Kernel" zypper ref --force zypper dup --from "repo-Kernel" I had problems (probably my fault) earlier when I tried solving the problem using the rpm kernel packages under http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/tiwai:/bsc1111076/ Regards James -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
