Hi All Spent some time looking at Gnome bugzilla (RTFM at me I guess) and found this, the solution supplied works for me - both Galeon and Mozilla work fine now. http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99229 The fixes supplied need to be altered slightly to fit in with my installation locations - as these are the defaults as supplied I guess it would be the same for anyone else having this problem: First the fix suggests removing lib/mozilla-$version/components/compreg.dat This is on my system: /opt/mozilla/components/compreg.dat Second the fix suggests removing the write permissions to the mozilla installation directory (/opt/mozilla?) - seemed kind of extreme so ignored this. Anyway Galeon now starts without respawning and Mozilla now actually starts! Note that after starting Galeon and Mozilla I checked and found that a compreg.dat file had been rewritten - not sure why the original was causing the problem. regards Paul I.T.
