[SLE] Is Kmail broke in KDE2 on SuSE 7.0?
Hello, I installed SuSE 7.0 and everything when pretty smooth (except sound / TV / HP1100 printer which I finally got working). I like the new KDE2 but it seems somewhat slow conpaired to version 1. Now the problem: kmail will not run, it starts but produces a system error and dies. Is this a kmail or user problems. I use kmail under SuSE 6.3. Anyone know how to fix this problem. It is one of the last things preventing me from moving to SuSE 7.0. Hi, Yes, AFAIK it is broken. After my install of 7.0, I removed all the KDE2 rpms (including Koffice) and installed the new ones from the KDE ftp server. These are the final beta of KDE2 and much nicer AND Kmail works. Have fun, Tom -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
I just installed SuSE 7.0 too and have the same problem (my HP1100 is not working). What did you do to get it working? It quits for me when its asked to check for mail. I have had this problem with the beta kmails recently. I await the 16th when the final gold release is available. Looking forward to having a proper email prog instead of using netscape. dids

Hi Richard, Remember me and Geforce 2 ? Well to make it work fine-tuning, I had to add the following option : NVIDIA(0): "OverridePolarity" "1" !!! Ever heard of that ??? As for Kmail in kde2 I have one problems. Kmail took every parameter from kmail-kde. The only thing is the vertical scrollbar missing in the message display! So If messages are too long .......cann't read them. For the HP 1100, Yast 2 recognised it immeadiatly. In some applications, the printer setup y2prn_lp.upp ascii doesn't work ( Kmail for example ) use y2prn_lp.upp auto Cheers, Filip Le sam, 07 oct 2000, dids a écrit :
