Re: [S.u.S.E. Linux] ascii printing single page

The option in /etc/apsfilterrc that is set to 2n must be changed to 1n if you want to use classic one page per sheet printing. There is a listing in apsfilterrc that documents what the format choices are.

Well, I really like having my ascii pages print two pages to a page but there are some instances where I want it it print one per page. How? I know it has something to do with "Z Options" but I don't know how to use them. I tried -Z with the lpr command...
That happened to me also. Are you using apsfilters? If you are, in /etc there are a couple of configuration files for the APS print filters. I think that the one you are looking for, if you are using the SUSE print setup, is /etc/apsfilterrc. One of the defaults is to print two pages to a sheet. Unfortunately, I'm not at home so I can't be more specific. The configuration file /etc/apsfilterrc has lots of comments that were pretty easy to understand.
hope this helps

Hy I'm using the software mpage. It is a very comfortable and easy to configure package. You can find it at: <A HREF="ftp://ftp.caldera.com/pub/mirrors/tsx-11/sources/usr.bin/mpage24.tar.gz"><A HREF="ftp://ftp.caldera.com/pub/mirrors/tsx-11/sources/usr.bin/mpage24.tar.gz</A">ftp://ftp.caldera.com/pub/mirrors/tsx-11/sources/usr.bin/mpage24.tar.gz</A</A>> e.g. For one side per page use mpage -1P <Filename> For two sides per page use mpage -2P <Filename> For a duplexprinter use mpage -xtP <Filename> (x=number of pages per page) and so on .... Additionally it is possible to us it in Netscape instead of lpr. You can save a lot of paper with it. Try it and love it...:-)) (.....comments ?? ;-)) Ps.: Is mpage in the SuSE 5.1 dist included ? I didn't found it... -- Regards Marius Augenstein -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
