No. It will not run under wine -or- CrossOver Office. I have tried both although I do not have the latest version of CXO. It keeps complaining of not being able to create a file that it needs. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998

Downloaded the trial version of CodeWeavers ver. 5.0 and get the same error: Unable to create empty document. Perhaps if enough people were to ask for support for TaxAct from CodeWeavers it will run in a future release of CXO. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998

Perhaps if enough people were to ask for support for TaxAct from CodeWeavers it will run in a future release of CXO. Just a side note: +TaxAct does not run under Win XP Pro either. At least it didn't at this time last year. A neighbor asked for my help getting it to run on her 'puter. After fiddling with it for a while, I went to Google and found that no one had it running on XP Pro. It gave the same error as you reported for CXO.

I got around that complaint but then ran into others and gave up. Fred -- Paid purchaser of ALL SuSE Linux releases since 6.x

I'm curious as to how you got around it?

I thought that was the one. It's not a permissions problem either as I jigged it's directory to 777 for permissions. I suspect they're using a direct method of accessing the disk instead of a proper API call which WINE could handle.
