Re: [S.u.S.E. Linux] SAMBA problems
Its there when the machine boots Win95. I can see it when i boot under Linux but not access it. -----Original Message----- From: gecko@freecar.com <gecko@freecar.com> To: suse-linux-e@suse.com <suse-linux-e@suse.com> Date: Wednesday, 11 March 1998 20:45 Subject: Re: [S.u.S.E. Linux] SAMBA problems
I have just installed Linux for the first time. The network is a tcp/ip Win95 setup. I can ping all others machines on the network by name
except
my Linux box. I can ping the linux box by ip address. I can also telnet in from the Win95 boxes by ip address. The linux box does not appear in the win95 network neighborhood. Obviously I can't use SAMBA shares until it does.
Has anyone checked the hosts file ("\WINDOWS\HOSTS") for the proper entry?
