I don't believe my network is configured properly, but I've tried everything I can think of to fix it.
"ifconfig" says the following about eth0: inet addr:192.168.1.5 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.255
This might be very trivial but just wanted to confirm if you did it correctly,
To set the netmask use the following.
ifconfig 192.168.1.5 broadcast 192.168.1.255 netmast 255.255.255.0
Did you do a "rcnetwork restart" after changing the ipaddress in Yast?
Yes, no change. ifconfig still shows subnet mask of 255.255.255.255. Any other thoughts? How does YaST affect things reported by ifconfig? Can I follow the chain of config files to find the problem? How do you get your IP address? DHCP, or static? -- Brad Shelton On Line Exchange http://www.ole.net Phone: 313-526-1111 Fax: 313-526-3333
